Discharges

You will be phoned to arrange a collection time for your pet after an operation or a stay in the hospital. We always aim to get pets back to their own homes as soon as possible.

When you arrive to collect your pet, we ask that you report to reception so that you can settle your bill. A nurse or vet will then speak to you about the operation or procedure your pet has undergone. Post-operative care will be discussed and any follow up appointments can be made.

We request that you telephone the practice at 3.00pm to find out what time your pet will be discharged after a day procedure or operation. The usual pick up time is between 4.00pm and 6.30pm. At discharge, you will be seen by either the vet who performed the operation or day procedure or by a nurse. They will give you instructions for after care and book a post op check appointment. Post op checks and suture removal appointments are free of charge after an operation.
