Equine and small animal inpatient visiting hours (by arrangement).

Out of normal hours we always have both small animal and equine/farm animal veterinary surgeons providing emergency services for all our clients. This service is for emergencies only; please make all other enquires during normal working hours.

In the event of an emergency out with normal working hours, simply call the normal office number (Long Stratton 01508 530 686, Brooke 01508 558 228) and your call will automatically be taken by our medical answering service, who will take your details and a brief description of the problem. This information will then be immediately sent to the on-call vet by a paging system. If for any reason you do not hear from the on call vet within 15 minutes please contact the answering service again. This may be due to a delay within the telecom network or if the vet is in the middle of treating an emergency. They will endeavor to contact you as soon as possible.

Out of hours emergency service charges

All emergency calls requested out of normal hours (see office hours), will be directed via our answering service to the on call veterinary surgeon. This service is for emergencies only and it is not possible to arrange any appointments via the emergency service. Please do not contact the emergency on call vet for non-urgent information as this could delay the vet attending a genuine emergency. Please not that charges for out of hours emergencies are higher than normal charges. A cost estimate can be given over the phone on request. We respectfully request that all small animal emergency services are paid for at the time of treatment as we do not have small animal accounts. Large animal emergencies are invoiced as normal although payment at the time of treatment is accepted.
