REGISTERING AS A NEW CLIENT
If you have recently moved to the area, have just acquired a new pet/animal or have decided to change your veterinary practice, the process of registering is very simple. All you need to do is call the Surgery on 01603 743725 (the office number) and inform the receptionist that you would like to become a client and would like to register your animals. They will take all your details, including you animal's and enter them into our computer records. In order to avoid delays and potential compromise to your animal's welfare we would advise you to register with the practice before the need for emergency services. If necessary we will need your consent to contact your previous vets for your animals' clinical notes.

MAKING A ROUTINE APPOINTMENT
Once you are registered and accepted as a client of the practice, we will provide routine and emergency services according to our terms and conditions of business. If you wish to make a routine appointment simply call the office during normal hours. For routine services it is advisable to arrange the appointment several days in advance if a specific date is required. Same day appointments for routine visits are normally available but not always possible to guarantee, with the exception of an emergency. For equine and farm animal appointments, you may be given a specific time or time window, or you may be asked to call the office on the day of the appointment to arrange/confirm a time. Small animal appointments during consulting hours will be allocated at the time of booking and are dependent on availability.
Whilst we make every effort to keep all appointments, the nature of veterinary practice means that there are occasions when the vet will have to cancel or re-organise a pre-arranged appointment at short notice to attend an emergency situation, or a different vet from that previously booked to attend may attend. We endeavour to keep you informed of any changes and to minimize any disruption or inconvenience caused by the necessary prioritization of emergency calls.

PHARMACY
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
The Dispensary is open every weekday from 8.30am to 6.00pm and 8.00am to 10.00am on Saturdays. You are welcome to pop in at any time during these hours to purchase flea treatment, wormers etc. and to collect repeat prescriptions. We do however need at least 24 hours advance notice for repeat prescriptions.
If you have a patient who is on long term treatment we are able to provide repeat courses of treatment as long as we carry out periodic re-examinations of the patient in line with the law and at the discretion of the treating veterinary surgeon. We will normally provide repeat treatments for 3 months before we request that a re-check be undertaken. This is a legal requirement to ensure that the patient is suitably fit to continue receiving the current treatment at the appropriate dosage and that the animal can be deemed to be under our care.
OPERATIONS
We have full surgical facilities in the Costessey surgery and perform all companion animal routine and non-routine operations at competitive rates.
EMERGENCIES
We offer 24 hour cover for companion animals and large animals (horses, farm animals etc) so you will always be able to contact a Veterinary Surgeon.
After 6:00pm this is an emergency service only and lasts until the office opens again at 8:30am the following morning.
We do ask for our clients cooperation, in that you contact us with any problems before 6.00pm weekdays and 10.00am Saturdays whenever possible, this will keep this as an Emergency Service only and greatly reduce the cost to you by avoiding an out of hours consultation or visit.
If you do have an emergency after business hours you can contact us on our usual telephone number and we will be more than happy to assist you.
If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Reception
